I think the extra year is what they wanted. Fair enough. Its a good deal for everyone. The Pistons have a solid bench guy for the next 5 years? including this year and Maxiell gets more money and less stress than if he had not signed. The Pistons fans get to watch Maxiell swat them shots and slam a few home. A win win all around except for out competition. I know the Cavs would have made a run for him next summer if he had been available. I guess Maxiell and Mr. Katz figured he was worth about what Joe D. and I figured. I'm very happy! I had assumed that they'd work out a deal next summer, since restricted free agents are rarely able to leave their teams.
