Amir Johnson starting in place of (injured) Richard Hamilton
What’s Going on World?
John W. Davis here. I didn’t want this news to slip by you. (I know someone just saw the box score and said why did Amir start over Rip?) Thanks for coming to Pistonscast.com for the scoop.

VIA MLIVE:
Detroit Pistons guard Richard Hamilton will not play tonight due to a left groin injury. Pistons coach Michael Curry said Hamilton initially suffered the injury at Atlanta on Dec. 21, but re-aggravated it against Oklahoma City last night.
“I kind of came down and I didn’t really know what happened, but after the (Atlanta) game I really felt it,” Hamilton told reporters. “It was like a pull.”
It is unclear when Hamilton will return, but his status is being listed as day-to-day. His absence means Amir Johnson is back in the starting lineup, with Detroit’s backcourt now consisting of Rodney Stuckey and Allen Iverson.

I WONDER IS AMIR STARTING IN PLACE OF RIP A TASTE OF THINGS TO COME?
Peace,

Probably not, knowing Michael Curry.
But he had a very strong game tonight, so maybe even Curry will have to consider it.
You just can’t start both Rip and AI.

Amir had a great game especially when you consider he hardly gets consistent minutes. He performed exceptional in my (biased) book.

Amir did have a hell of a game. Even their coach said he made a big difference in the game.
I gotta question tho… How did we play so good that night opposed to other nights? Like what was the big difference? John help me out

We only use one of our SGs!
In the one Game AI is hurt and after that Rip is injured! To have only one SG (AI or Rip) makes a big different.
Give Rip and Ai only 10-15 min together on the court and for the other 33-38 min bring only one of them!
So both will play something around 30 min (even a little bit more). And if one of them gets on fire, let him play a little bit more than the other! If it is a day-to-day desicion, it couldn’t be a problem for both of them!
So Curry doesn’t have to change his starting linuep (Though I will be happy, if he will change it, because i’m a friend of having two real bigs out there and having Tay and Rip on his natural positions!).
He told the media, that he will substitue AI and Tay early in the first! And i think this works good!
Only if we play against an bigger opponent (Orlando, Boston, …) he has to change his starting lineup!

Rip wasn’t playing…. I think have a regular lineup made us play regular solid defense. We just matched up alot better without Rip playing.

Right on Marcus!

Yeah good points. This is weird tho. I must say this is the craziest PISTONS season I’ve ever seen in my life!
