Episode 80: The Downfall of Small Ball! (Unreleased)

The Answer AI

What’s Going on Pistonscast Posse,

This episode was recorded on Monday, January 19th,2009 in anticipation of the death of small ball.

The show is almost prophetic isn’t that right Mike Watson from Louisiana? :)

——————————-

Question of the day?

Did you believe small ball would die before January 21st or that the Pistonscast Posse would have to boycott?

(Please believe we were serious!)

Peace,

John W. Davis

I don’t think small ball would’ve died if the Pistons won.

But that 5 game losing streak was too much.

But this lineup change is great. Yeah, Toronto is bad, but when was the last time Detroit was up 20 in the 4th quarter?

The death of small ball means more playing time for Will Bynum and Maxiell, another big to take the defensive pressure off Sheed, it distributes the offense so either AI or Rip is always your primary shooter, and maybe most importantly it allows Tayshaun to play back at his natural position at SF.

Maybe the only downside is loss of PT for AA.

But so far so good….but it’s just one game.

I read that Rip didn’t do his usual pregame boxing with the guys, and that he walked out last, by himself…

Say it ain’t so, Rip.

After that five game losing streak, I thought it would die. It had to. I had discussions with family members about how Rip needs to come off the bench to provide this team with a chance of winning, and that with small ball, we have no defense and no skills in rebounding.

Will Bynum’s getting an opportunity for some more playing time, which is great — he deserves it, and played great against Toronto.

You cant shadow box if they don’t call your name in the pre game introductions. Sorry Rippleton.

oh rip…

I wasn’t sure when the “shoe was gonna drop”, but it needed to happen soon. Rip needs to go and find Vinnie Johnson to find out how valuable someone coming off the bench can be. Do the Pisons win those titles in 89 & 90 without the Microwave?

Great Point David C. Thats a very strong comment for a first time in the comment sections! Rip can be better than Vinnie because in the 4th quarter, Rip will have so much energy compared to the other 2 and 3’s guarding him.

Joe D needs to set up that mentoring relationship ASAP!

I second that David C. Guys like Vinnie Johnson are hard to find these days.
