Allen Iverson to Miss Two Weeks with Sore Back

The Detroit Pistons announced today that guard Allen Iverson will miss the next two weeks due to a sore back at the request of doctors at Georgetown University. Iverson’s condition was evaluated at Georgetown today and it was recommended that he suspend basketball related activities for two weeks. He will not travel with the team to prevent stress on his back and will be re-evaluated again by the doctors at Georgetown following the conclusion of the two-week period.

The doctors at Georgetown University have been in contact with the Pistons’ medical staff and Iverson will begin treatment for his sore back upon his return to Detroit on Thursday.

What happens now?

Have we seen the last of Allen Iverson?

Is his back really hurt?

Who knows… but I want to hear your opinion.

Peace,

John W. Davis

It doesn’t matter, if he is really hurt. We can win games without AI. Let’s play with Bynum and Afflalo. AI as a Piston will be history in a few weeks (after the season)!

If he won’t come off the bench (i think so!), we have to starbury him! don’t give him playingtime or let him participate on training…

i got that text too! and i was jumping for JOY!

I think it’s the last of AI in a pistons jersey.

He may have hurt his back, but if he was a)still starting, b)had not been given crap by curry in the press, or c)not a free agent next year, he’d be playing again.

“RIP CITY” BABY!!!

I think he’ll be back. Him missing games is blown way out of proportion. He’s played through worse, but maybe his body is finally breaking down.

Damn…..really?! This AI hate has really got to stop. Ya’ll are better than that.

Look, the man has played thru injuries his whole career. The man has more heart than pretty much anyone in the entire leeague. Now ya’ll want to question that and cheer when he says he is legit hurt? Pretty sad.

Hey TAD, RIP CITY BABY!!! Im hating on A.I. cuz everybody hated on RIP!! HAHA!

Plus John I gotta new laptop! Which means I got iTunes again which means I get to hear PISTONSCAST again!! Horayyyyyyyy!! LOL

I’m like 6 episodes behind!

John March 5th at 11:13 am

Mike you better get it together! HAHA Pistonscast waits for no man or woman! LOL

TADOne March 5th at 12:31 pm

I blasted people for hating on Rip, too. Regardless, the man is injured. I would never cheer an injury to a player. So….meh.

David C. March 5th at 1:17 pm

Interesting that the toughest player in the NBA (at least by reputation) has a severe back injury in conjunction to being moved to the bench. Not the way to earn that one last big contract, is it? I think the Pistons will play better with him gone.

Was that my alarm clock?

Mike Watson March 5th at 2:10 pm

LOL @ the meh… TAD im not attacking you personally im attacking all those who doubted the skills of my boy RIP and those who doubted the power of the “MASK”. Hey I bet it looks good now…

John March 5th at 3:01 pm

@David C. Wake Up! ITS TIME FOR SOME DETROITTTTTTTTT BASKETBALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!

TADOne March 5th at 3:03 pm

I know Mike. Sorry if it read that way. I was saying that to everyone who blasted Rip, because i’m quite sure they are the same ones now blasting AI.

If anything, people just need to remember that the move was made for cap space as well. We can’t completely judge this until we see what magic Joe D. can make with the money.
