Ok John, here is a question:

Going off of recent comments by Amare, what are the chances that he becomes a Piston?

If you are unaware, here is what he said:

john, i’m making a site how do i avoid copyright b.s. and stuff?

Richard May 15th at 4:11 pm

hey guys i got my site set up here:

http://pistonsfan.webs.com/

Ali Hassani May 15th at 6:08 pm

what do you mean avoid copyright bs? Do you intend on posting other people’s work? If so the only way to do so is to credit them somewhere on the site and get permission directly from the owner.

However if you don’t plan on putting up anyone else’s work then you won’t have to worry about copyright infringement.

Also do you know anything about HTML, Java, CSS or C++? Kinda hard to make a site without a solid background of at least html or software like dreamweaver unless if the domain company does all the work for you. I can show you a thing or two about coding, but my knowledge is limited to HTML, some CSS, and using software that does the rest.

@TAD “I’d be happy to be a Sun, but I’m not positive I will be.”

“Whatever’s clever. Whoever wants me, I’ll be ready for them. I’ll be back with a vengeance. That’s what you can call me next season: Die Hard Vengeance.”

What else do you expect him to say? The Suns are old and arent getting any better. He can stay there on max out on that contract.

My feelings are he is just talking mess right now. I would think the Suns would dump Shaq 1st. Thats more than enough cap room. If I was the Suns I would keep Amare. He is the type of player that will want the max so if he leaves I think it will be a sign and trade anyway.

Sometimes those workout for the best ala Ben Wallace for Grant Hill.

@Richard. Good luck with the new site but come on… Step one, trade Hamilton to Washington for their 1st Round pick. With the newly acquired pick, draft Hasheem Thabeet or Ricky Rubio.

If Joe D can do that trade man oh man. Thats a crazy good trade. Who knows. Gil, Rip, Caron, Jamison and Andray Blatche is a pretty good team.

You know what I like your thinking but I dont know… You might be a bit too wishful.

Ali: yea i actually can code pretty well but not well enough thats why i just used freewebs, and the reason i asked about the copyright stuff is cause i have no idea about the rules and stuff so i was just checkin that i wasnt breaking any law i didnt know about or something

Richard May 15th at 10:16 pm

John: its not completely out of the realm of possibility considering how desperate washington is. with hamilton alongside arenas wins could start coming to washingtion which makes me think a deal like this is possible

Aorry, but actually it is out of the realm of possibility because washington is already something like $10 million over the luxury tax line. If they were to take on hamilton’s contract for a pick, they’d be $20 mil over the tax line, which translates into $40 mil beyond the luxury tax line.

Look their owner’s got money, and he’s not afraid to spend it, but that would be spending near $100 mil a year. If he would do that, he’d want a guaranteed championship. Jamison is already 33 and his FG% has been declining over the years. Perhaps that team could make it to confrence finals, but they certainly would not be deeper than Boston or Cleveland.

Also I’m not sure if Joe could pull the trigger himself. It’s a great trade on paper, but think of Darko. There’s no guarantee that Thabeet will make it anywhere (and quite frankly I don’t think he will, he looks too much like Amir, high potential but way too inconsistent). Rubio could become all star point guard, but once again that’s only could.

That’s a huge risk for trading a guy that’s a guaranteed 20 points a night. Perhaps Rodney Stuckey would be a better trade, but then you really aren’t making progress in the age department.

However, if Washington does land the 1 pick over Sacramento, I say go for it. Blake Griffin looks like a guaranteed starter, probably even an all star in 4 or 5 years. Plus he’s got great size and footwork, at 6′10″ he could in fact play center if we land Chris Bosh.

So to reitterate, if they have the 1st pick, its worth it for us, however in either scenario Washington really can’t afford the additional salary.

Richard May 16th at 10:19 am

yes thats true, its possible but unlikely

Ali Hassani May 16th at 1:24 pm

speaking of the actual show, I think the Pistons were that bad on top of the Cavs being that good.

Rip didn’t show up. Tay didn’t show up. Sheed didn’t show up. Only Dyess and Stuckey came to work. And because of it, every time they touched the ball, all the attention went to them, which is why they shot such a low percentage compared to their capabilities.

Ali Hassani May 16th at 1:34 pm

Also one another thing about Rodman. Rodman played with more heart than anyone else on the team, but I disagree that makes him the most talented player. No one else has ever averaged 19 boards as far as I know, Dwight Howard gets 14 but he doesn’t go after lose balls nearly as hard as Rodman did. Clearly Isaiah had the most offensive talent, and as far I’ve heard was a good defender so I’d say he had the most talent (how many times has Rodman scored 43 in the finals off a bad ankle?).
