Nah I want no part of Tayshaun next year, in mind he's done as a piston. I fully expect him to be traded this summer since Rip is immovable with that big contract.

Either way you are completely misunderstanding me, how many times do I have to explain that Rip is serviceable, not the main option. Stuck is still the starting point guard, Bynum is going to give you 20 minutes a night, and then if necessary Rip will take a few minutes running the point to give them a breather.

But for fun, I will counter your argument. Dwayne Wade was the NBA's leading scorer and yet he runs the point for a good 15-20 minutes a game. He's averaging 30 points and 7.5 assists. In fact the only reason why he doesn't dominate the ball like AI is to give him some rest and develop the other players.

So unless if you think Pat Riley is an awful coach and GM (he drafted Wade and made the decision to have him on the ball a lot), then your "nonsense" claim is invalid.

And if you don't like Pat Riley, then there's always LeBron, Michael Jordan, Larry bird, Magic Johnson, Isaiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, and Kwame Brown. If you don't like any of those guys, then you just don't like NBA basketball.

If Rip's anything of a combo then it's shooting guard and small forward.

Why would you even want the leading scorer who's a set up player to even run the point? That's non-sense.

Tayshaun Prince is a better point guard than Rip. That's who u need to be talking bout.

I said he's a combo guard, not a point guard. Look at his assist numbers for the past 7 years, he's had around 4 to 5 a game. That's 10 top for shooting guards almost every year.

Serviceable combo guard and starting point guard are no where near the samething.

I meant that first message was meant for Astrid not Ali..man it's to many ppl wit A names on here rite now. LOL

But @Ali RIP is not a point guard in any way. He's a true shooting guard that can distribute the ball in a jam or when a teammate gets open from something that he's created. Like when they overplay his screens or they double team him. A point guard has be able to make and create pass in any sitution.

I'm not saying he's a great ball handler, but you can't say he's not serviceable.

Also I tried calling twice and got a dead line both times

AStrid, if you call, I won't sing, beat box, hum, or yodel for 3 episodes!

Yeah, Rip did handle a lot of the offense the last couple of seasons. I really didn't like it either. Rip is most dangerous away from the ball, coming off of curls and getting into the lane where he can use his size and mid-range shooting over smaller defenders.

Ric so do LeBron, Chris Paul, Deron Williams but every says they're good playmakers.

That's called being smart with the ball and not forcing an issue you can't handle.

Also those games that Rip got 10+ assists, he was clearly running the point. Stuckey would walk the ball up the court then just hand it off to Rip who initiate the offense, and he did make a lot of good passes not coming off a double team.

I certainly could tell you who I think is the best coach right now, and no its not Larry Brown or Phil Jackson. But I'm not really sure what you guys are looking for though. I tried thinking outside the box with bringing up 3 guys that went unnoticed for a good amount of time and played a big part for their team, but you guys laughed it off on a previous show.

@Ali Rip is Turnover machine when he is racking up all those assists.

He sort of nullifies his accomplishments with negative plays. (PS I hate TO's)

It looks like Dumars is trying to justify a possible point guard selection. But since when have we EVER been able to tell what the hell Joe- D is thinking?

Ali, you might get bonus for the neighbor take alone--very strong!. But seriously, the more you can bring to the show, the better. The idea is to stand out from your opponents. So the accent will be a is a definite help.

Guys Joe Dumars cleared this up a while ago, he said in a seperate interview with Keith Langois (just after the major press conference he had) that Rodney Stuckey is still his point guard of the future.

He meant that he wants to use Bynum and Stuckey together a lot next year. In theory that means that they would need another point guard to run the ball when they both need a breather, but I think Rip can handle that job; he's already shown that he can rack up the assists multiple times.

That's why I don't think we need another point guard with the 15th pick, I'd rather take a strong wing player and then take a point guard (if nothing else of value is on the board) with one of the early second rounders.

We know you have that Die-hard take in you Darian--so give up it up!

Yeah Ryan, when a player looks like a point guard and acts like a point guard, they're usually a point guard. But in Stuckey's case, we don't know. Although I think he is

Astrid, of course you don't have two hold back. We love when you send comments. Besides, it gives us more material for the show. What would really be cool, is if you called and left a voice msg about your favorite coach (singing will get you bonus points).

Thanks for burning my cheeks again. I appreciate it!. . .

I never said you should stop altogether, I do enjoy when you sing R. Kelly. :P

Should I hold back saying anything in the future? (Serious question, may seem a little rhetorical).

110 episodes! Episode 300 will be here before we know it!

I agree with Joe. He's not a straight up point guard because he often times doesn't look for the team's best shot when he's going down the floor. A point guard needs to be a floor general, directing the traffic so that the best possible shot is taken.

I liked when Curry played Bynum and Stuckey together at times during this past season. Stuckey could focus more on scoring when he did that, and Bynum could distribute the ball.

As for the contest on the 'cast goes, I had to include two because I had to pay homage to Chuck Daly, and Bill's my favorite present-day coach.
