What don't you like about villanueva? He's not Chris Bosh, but he is young, got a big body, tall and has an outside shooting touch. And if you do get Bosh, you need a big body for the inside because he plays the high post. Besides, you can pick up talent from salary dumps (ie Jefferson) and from there use the MLE.

Richard, when you spend this kind of money, you have to look at the impact the player makes on their team, not just their individual numbers. As I said, Boozer did not make any impact on his team, and neither will an unhealthy Chandler.

When I see Gordon, I see another AI. A guy with tremendous individual talents, but doesn't have a real position (he's just a scorer, not a PG or SG). They just are not championship team leaders, why did AI never win a ring? If you don't believe me, then listen a lot of the local sports radio channels.

I recommend spending some time listening to Mike Valenti and Terry Foster, those guys almost always have their facts straight and aren't afraid to spit out the truth. Also 97.1 gets a lot of insider information from the palace and interviews with Dumars.

Well you look at every player and say that you don't want to settle for them, I'm saying why pay him 6 mil and someone else 10-11 mil? That leaves with like 4 mil which isn't even gonna pay for half of a player as bad as darko

Well Richard, realistically what do you want to do with the cap space this summer?

I'd rather not resort to Boozer. Even putting his injuries aside, the Jazz had the same winning percentage with him as they did without him. In other words, he's another Iverson - a guy with talent that doesn't make his team better.

And I wouldn't take Tyson Chandler just yet, even if NO would have traded him for just Amir and cash (see why this trade looks idiotic now?). His injuries have turned out to be worse than expected and word is he won't be healthy for a while.

I say by July 20th, you'll know if the Pistons will be a playoff team next year. All the little screw ups have come to haunt the team at this point. Think about it, what would have happened if he had picked Josh Howard over Delfino, or Branden Bass/Ronny Turiaf over Maxiell, how about Deandre Jordon over Sharpe? And lets not forget about Mateen Cleeves, Rodney White and Darko. Guys like Maxiell are great to have as auxiliary players on a championship contender, but they don't consistently contribute compared to people the Pistons have passed on.

Joe definitely understood that the Pistons were stale and had to be blown up, but he's still got a lot of work to do. You trade Rip and Tay, that's great, but you've still got holes across the roster. He will need to pull off a couple of great draft picks if he really wants a title.

Turns out there could be a reason for sending Amir. according to pistons.com, the move was done to entice Milwaukee's GM to be willing to give up Villanueva.

I've got no complaints if we get villanueva, except that he isn't a great rebounder and has no eyebrows.

But you're missing the point Astrid. the Pistons were getting a lot of offers for amir last year. They should have gotten much more than just cap space.

I mean Richard Jefferson was traded for cap space, we could have had a guy of his caliber for Amir, Fabio and Sharpe etc.

If Williams falls to 15, I'd say he's likely a lock (but you never know with Joe). If not, it'll likely come down between Daye, Mulliens, Blaire or Lawson.

On a side note, why not get Jodie Meeks with the first second rounder or buy his contract (like a Rudy Fernandez thing). This team needs 3 point shooting, and Meeks can certainly provide that. Even if he's not as athletic as others guys, just placing him in the corner with afflalo on the other side, you've created a wide open lane for Bynumite. thoughts?

Perhaps this trade means he plans on picking up BJ Mulliens? Or maybe he feels Dyess is going to walk so he needs a veteran big?

I'm stumped on this one. He must love picking up Pop's trash (Nazr Mohammad anyone?)

Joe's big trade before the draft...getting Oberto?

Seriously? I thought he wanted to get better, not 10 years older. how the hell does this make the team better?

Not to mention now you don't have any trade bait for Chris Bosh. Unless if Toronto specifically asked for Oberto, in which case it makes sense.
