Would you trade Tayshaun Prince for Carlos Boozer?

Here’s the Detroit Pistons latest trade rumor…
The Pistons reportedly turned down a trade with the Jazz that would have sent Carlos Boozer to Detroit for Tayshaun Prince.
A league source said that while the Pistons like Boozer, they simply couldn’t let go of Prince.

Good!
Ryan (Young R) July 12th at 11:11 pm
I think that would’ve been a bad trade for the Pistons. We’d have to have a draft pick or a shooting guard be our starting small forward.
I’m glad they turned it down!
I wonder if they countered with Rip.
One-Take Davis July 13th at 1:11 am
I think Arron Aflalo could start!
One-Take Davis July 13th at 1:12 am
But I would rather trade Rip!
Ryan (Young R) July 13th at 3:04 am
I’d rather trade Rip, too, John!
Not to mention, with this trade, you’re trading a guy who has played 82 games a season for 6 seasons and is one of the league’s best defenders for a guy who is injury prone.
Astrid July 13th at 3:38 am
I honestly don’t recall someone giving their body as much as our Prince.
If you’re observant when you watch the games, he has the trainer on hand and is nearly ALWAYS being worked on, even sore the guy plays great (maybe not offensively) & he has great intangibles.
Trade Rip, gimme some Afflalo action - love him.

@ Deven, Ryan, Astrid, Ali, Mike Watson, Hell the whole Pistonscast Posse!
Okay then.. riddle me this…
Who would you trade Tayshuan Prince for?
Mike Watson July 13th at 11:43 am
First off Young R good point with the Tay playing 82 games thing. That makes a hell of difference and one of the reasons why i wanna keep him. Then u messed with the trade Rip thing… Hell EVERYBODY messing up with the trade Rip thing! I feel like there’s a trade Rip movement coming or something.
But one person I would trade Tay for is Amare straight up. Bosh…oh Lebron, Melo and idk i cant really think of nobody else just off my head right now. But basically somebody that can REPLACE or is just outright better than him. Somebody who can bring us what he brings us plus more.
Even though that dude is WEAK (John and Deven I’m still not letting that go!) he is the most consistant player on our team and brings alot to the table. He could be an all star on alotta other teams
Deven aka (Pimpscwalla) July 13th at 1:04 pm
Yea there’s only two players that can replace Tay. Scotty Pippen and himself.
You only move Tay when a big time player is coming back.
Brian(Butterz) July 13th at 1:43 pm
AMENNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deven. The pistons cant trade Tay. if anyone is gonna help the team bring back the working hard days. its gonna b tay. Tayshaun would b the last piston that i would trade.
John W. Davis July 13th at 2:50 pm
And Im pissed again… Thanks Joe D for trading Arron Afflalo!

Rip is the highest paid player on the team not Gordon.
He’s making $11.6 million this year and $12.65 million the next 3 years adding up to $49.5 million over the next 4 years, which would be $12.4 million per year. Ben is making $55 million over the next 5 years which gives him $11 million a year.

Bottom line Rip deserves to start and Ben can come off the bench since he’s not the highest paid player John W.
Richard July 13th at 10:22 pm
whatever happened to the live show?
Deven aka (Pimpscwalla) July 13th at 11:18 pm
What live show would that be Richard?

… We traded Afflalo. WHAT?!
I love Afflalo…
Um, anyways - I’m a little.
I would trade Tayshaun For Channing Frye and someone else from that Blazer team.
Channing WANTS to be a starter, I’ve seen his frustration. He can start, he plays JUST like Aldridge. He’s not great with picks, but he has the mid-range shot and height.
The other person.. Meh, Outlaw if we could. He makes for an alright replacement at the 3.
Deven aka (Pimp Scwalla) July 14th at 2:58 am
Now Astrid, you can do better than Channing Frye for Mr. “does everything” Tayshaun Prince.
Aldridge…Yes!
Astrid July 14th at 9:26 am
You could not get Aldridge for Prince. Maybe Stoudamire, but only because of poor management.
It’s hard to think of one player that you could trade for Tayshaun. Boozer.. eh, maybe, but we could wait a year for that cumbersome old man. I honestly thing Channing Frye and someone else from that YOUNG team would be lovely.
How about Rip and Tay for Brandon Roy and Channing Frye, yeah, right! If only…
Deven aka (Pimp Scwalla) July 14th at 10:01 am
I’m sorry Astrid, you said Frye and someone else to go with him.
I thought you meant straight up.
Dre July 14th at 1:27 pm
When I heard about Afflalo being dealt to Denver, I was shocked, but not surprised. I guess I’ll have to retire my Afflalo jersey earlier than expected. Good Luck in the Mile High City. Say what’s up to C.Bills.
John W. Davis July 14th at 2:07 pm
@ Astrid. Actually Channing Fyre was a free agent. The Phoenix Suns gave him 4 million dollars over 2 years.
I agree the Pistons should have acquired him for next to nothing!

Astrid July 14th at 3:14 pm
Damn, we missed out. He can plaaaaaaay. He started for the Blazers for a while and he did great.
How’d he slip past us?!
Maybe with Frye in Phoenix they’ll give us Stoudamire for a nice chocolate cake, or Tay.
Slightly different subject. I don’t understand the logic of tradinh Afflalo for a pick. This pick is going to hand us ANOTHER young player who needs development - if we don’t even develop the players we have, what’s the point in getting more youth? Are they hoping to strike lucky with some amazing talent?
Afflalo was a great defender, and that’s a good base to develop on… We knew what we had, we just have to utilize it. :/

tayshaun for boozer seems like good value, but it wouldnt be a good fit. we just picked up villanueva to start at the 4. boozer is 6-8, so hes not playing center. on top of that, hes a free agent next summer and who nows what could happen then (walk to another team or resign for BIG money). i think dumars is looking for big strong defensive minded center to start alongside the jumpshooting villenueva. i know we just picked up wilcox, but i dont see him or brown as a legit starting option at center. though i think tayshaun or rip could b moved, i only see it happening if they replace them or pick up a quality center. but well just have to wait and see. and as for the afflalo deal, that was strictly a cap clearing move. afflalos a solid young player, but they need to sign another big more than they need afflalo on their bench. he just wouldnt see the floor stuck behind stuckey rip gordon and even bynum.
