I’m guessing no one showed up Ryan, hence this poll. Only a presumption.
Peoples plans change, but hosts!
You could of still went on with the show and released it as usual on the site.

It’s unfortunate that I won’t be able to listen to live shows. Since I work 12hr days, and with school around the corner I’ll be doing both. I still voted though.

@ Everyone
If you call in at (718)-664-6124 during our live shows you can hear the show and then talk to us live over the air.
Basically, I’m saying call-in regardless if you’re listening to the actual show!
Everyone can participate!

Yeah that’s what me and Steve Kays did but nothing came through for some reason.

I have to disagree with Tayshaun Prince being the best defender in pistons history. The block is a part of history, it was big at the time, but what has he done in the past 3 eastern conference finals? He sure as hell did not shut down Wade, LeBron or Pierce when he was called upon. I will fully explain who I think is the best after the competition if he was not named (though I would be shocked if he wasn’t).
As for the team leader, I think those are good categories to look at. Personally, I don’t think anyone on the team, as is, really constitute as a team leader.
Rip quite frankly he lost a lot of leadership credibility with me when he became a problem instead of the solution last year. A true leader would have stepped last year, barked at Sheed and AI to get their tails in line and would have gotten the team moving in the right direction. Instead we hear about him whining over who’s starting (AI was a better fit for the bench, but still, that’s inexcusable as co-captain). Tay and Stuckey are lead by example people. I believe I’ve already done a good enough job on that to move on.
I think you guys underestimate Villanueva’s offensive ability when called upon. Look at his numbers when he giving ~35 and the Bucks had tons of injury problems. He was putting up numbers like 28 and 12, 24 and 10, 26 and 13 pretty consistently. However he seems too melo to get in someone’s face when need be. Seems like a great person to hang out with, just not a team leader.
Gordon, well…do I even have to say it? He’s GOD AWFUL on the defensive end. Only thing going for him is that he does have a lot of strength and athleticism. Meaning with a bit more effort, he could do a decent job of stopping penetration into the lane. However anyone with a decent jumper could just shoot over him.
I think they need to someone how acquire a monster center. Ben Wallace 2.0. Someone that brings the defensive intensity every night. Hopefully Villanueva and Gordon can bring the clutch buckets and just leave the key rebounding to player X.
On a side note, why is it that when the pistons officially talk about going small, they say that Tayshaun should play the 4? I think that has already proven it does not work. If anything, Jerebko should play PF in a 3 guard situation. When I was watching him in the summer league, I did notice that he brought a lot of intensity in the low post. Although the “can play center” claims are ludicrous, I do see a David Lee comparison. I liked how he was able to keep a lot of plays alive and also the athleticism. I recall on one play there the PG (don’t recall who) threw up a lob pass, and he and Summers both dunked it - pretty insane.

I think CV is a guy who can get in people’s faces. I recall he once shoved an opposing player in the throat (Andy V?). That’s not a teammate of course, but still.
Deven aka (Pimpscwalla) July 30th at 10:18 pm
Damn Ali you give a lot to respond to but i’ll try to shorten my responses.
1. Tayshaun isn’t the best defender in Pistons’ history–No one said that. He’s not even in the top three.
2. There’s no problem with Tayshaun’s defense. He’s pretty much the same player. In order to even contain a Bron, Wade, or Pierce, you need the right defensive philosophy and a good team effort. They haven’t had that since 05.
3. We like CV!
One-Take Davis July 31st at 1:34 am
We definitely dont think Tay is a top 3 defender.
One-Take Davis July 31st at 7:43 am
Also we said Charlie could get in done offensively.
Ali I dont think you “REALLY” listen to the shows.
You have spent too much time listening to the Radio (The Ticket) and not Pistonscast!
