9-3-08 Will Bynum Re-Post by John W. Davis

What’s Going on World?

John W. Davis here.  Ranking Will Bynum as the 13 Most Important Piston might be low to some people because Will Bynum is in line to be the Pistons third PG and partially fill that little Lindsey Hunter role.  I actually like the number 13 for Bynum.  My birthday is August 13th, so naturally 13 is my favorite number.

WILL BYNUM CAN LITERALLY JUMP OUT OF THE GYM!

Anyway, I see this season as an opportunity for Bynum to prove he should really be a Number 2 point guard.  If you know anything about Will Bynum you know that he has Chicago street creed just like another former Piston Isiah Thomas.  This bodes well for Bynum because Chi-town PG’s are known to really fill it up!

SEND IT IN LIL’ FELLA!

I see Bynum as the 2008-09 version of Mike James but a much better athlete and that’s a really good thing.  You can’t teach athleticism and that trait can translate into a pesky above average defender.  Bynum looked good in Summer League playing tenacious water bug defense.  From his Chi-town, University of Arizona, Georgia Tech, NBDL and Macabi Tel Aviv days, he has proven on every level that he can really fill it up.

MAYBE WE SHOULD PUT HIM AT CENTER!  THAT BLOCK COULD REPLACE BEN WALLACE FINALLY!

One more thing in Bynum’s corner is Michael Curry’s involvement as upper league management for the NBDL a few years ago.  Bynum was the NBDL Rookie of the Year during his stint.  Curry values the NBDL and knows what Bynum can do.  Joe D knows what he can do as well.  It’s just a matter of time that Piston fans know what he can do as well.

Enjoy this Will Bynum You Tube Mix Tape!  The man has hops (and overall game)!

Peace,

John W. Davis

I THINK WE JUST GOT A FREE AGENT STEAL!

This post was written back on September 3rd, 2008.  I remember Bynum from his college days at Arizona and Georgia Tech.  The guy was little but man could he shoot and score.  When he was signed to the Pistons, we still had Chauncey Billups and Rodney Stuckey was coming off the bench so I saw Will Bynum as the 3rd Point Guard on our team.  Well he has clearly exceeded all of my expectations but honestly he has always had all the tools.

“It’s really not me,” Bynum said as he deflected credit after the game. “It’s my teammates and the coaching staff. I don’t deserve all the credit. It’s pretty much them, those guys out there setting the screens and the coaching staff believing in me.”

I like his mindset and I love his game.  Maybe Bynum is THE ANSWER to our bench prayers!

*Need 4 Sheed Catch Phrase of the Day: Bynumite!

Peace,

New Website/Pistons vs. Raptors

by John W. Davis - posted Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Check Baby Check Baby One two three! This is John W. Davis from Pistonscast just saying whats up on the new website.

Did you check out the Potential Playoff Preview with the Detroit Pistons at home against the Raptors. When the game is tied going into the 4th quarter and your five starters play a combined 1 minute and you win by 7 points you are in good shape.

That’s right Mr. Rodney Stuckey and Mr. Jason Maxiell combined for 18 4th quarter points and helped the Pistons pull away from the Toronto Raptors. Sorry Basketball Jonesers like Tas Meles and J.E. Skeets, I think the 1st round will be your only round. Oh Well! Better luck whenever the Raptors decided to get rid of T.J. ” I think I’m Iverson” Ford. Gosh cant he just pass to Chris Bosh.

Peace from a Detroit State of Mind

John W. Davis
