It’s not what you know, it’s who you know-to dunk on!
by Deven - posted Thursday, July 9th, 2009

By Deven Khrucell aka Pimpscwalla
You mean to tell me that years ago, when I used to go see the Detroit Lions practice, all I had to do was tackle Barry Sanders in the Silver Dome parking-lot and I could have been famous?
I think Nike Messed up on this one. They just should have let everyone see the king get posterized. Now Lebron looks like a scared coward.
I wonder what his Nike advisors will have him tell the media? I can just see him in an interview telling them “I have no recollection of any sort of dunk video.” Then when the tape is released, we’ll have a “dunkergate” conspiracy.
Kobe’s image was almost ruined by his actions with a woman and now if he doesn’t handle this correctly Lebron’s image could be tainted by two points.

Shaq’s over the edge
by Deven - posted Friday, July 3rd, 2009
While we’re all waiting on Joe Dumars to piece together this difficult Piston’s puzzle, I thought we might enjoy a laugh or two from our new eastern conference neighbor.

Why Lebron James is better than Kobe Bryant
by Deven - posted Friday, May 8th, 2009
I really feel bad for Kobe (aw).
He’s not an original like Lebron is.
Kobe has spent his entire career trying to be like Michael Jordan. As we can all see, he’s no MJ.
*Here are a few areas where Kobe’s attempt to better MJ has failed:
First- It took Jordan only 4 years to understand that he could not do it by himself. Kobe is almost 30 and still, at times, seems to be playing his own game separate from his team mates.
Second- He doesn’t make players around him better. Sure others benefit from all the attention that Kobe gets, but how many player’s talent seems to flourish from being on the same court with Kobe?
*Because of Jordan, Scotty Pippen is one of the greatest 50 players in NBA history. Not to mention all of the extras that he had playing the best basketball of their freaky lives. Like; Paxton, Kerr, Perdue, Buechler, and Longley-just to name a few.
Because of good ole Mike, I don’t even have to say their first names. Otherwise, we wouldn’t even know who in the hell they were. If you can name ONE player that Kobe has made better, I’m listening.
Third- Kobe and MJ’s games are pretty much the same (Kobe has a slight edge in 3pt.shooting and ball handling). But, as much as Kobe’s game seems to mirror Jordan’s, they are totally opposite in the way they use it. Kobe, no matter how you play him, tries to do what he wants offensively even if it’s a bad shot.
Of course with his talent, he’s still good enough to make a lot of his ‘bad’ shots and it’ll make the ESPN highlights. But what that does is it disconnects him from the rest of his team and it also makes what they’re trying to do, a little more predictable. Jordan, on the other hand, adapted his game to fit however you were trying to play him.
*For example, if you stop the drive, he would kill you with a jumper. If you played him tight, he didn’t force up a Jumper, he would drive by you. He had developed his skills to exploit what ever you gave him (how many times have you seen MJ force anything?). Throw in his extras that made shots ‘or else’, and you see why he was the worse disease opposing teams had ever faced in NBA history.
*Kobe could have been better, and because of these 3 points, Lebron still can.
Peace,
Deven Khrucell

Pistons Plan: Make LeBron James Sweat
by John W. Davis - posted Tuesday, April 21st, 2009
There are no tricks we’re going to add,” Rasheed Wallace said. “Just straighten on up.”
James scored 38 in the series opener.
“We didn’t make him take the shots we wanted him to take,” Curry said. “He got eight (of his 13) baskets in the paint and he was 11-for-14 at the free-throw line. That pretty much sums it up. We have to keep him out of the paint more than that.”
“He’s very tough when he puts his mind to it,” center Zydrunas Ilgauskas said Sunday when asked if James was impossible to cover. “He can do everything on the floor, including passing. You pick your poison. Teams want to give him different looks. He’s seen everything.”

Pistons v. 2010 Lebron’s! Amir’s back! (Maybe)
by Pistonscast - posted Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

The Pistons are taking on the New York 2010 Free Agent Class Knicks tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills. A nice Pre Turkey day game that should be much better than the Detroit Lions game this week…
Anyway, I hope all the Piston players get out there and play some tough defense to burn off some extra calories for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving feast.
Coming into today, the Pistons are 8-5 and the Knicks are 7-7. These are not Marbury’s Knicks anymore, they can actually score and most nights put up and very good fight regardless of their opponent. If the Pistons don’t play defense this might be a run&gun shootout well above the 110 point mark for both teams.
Good News for all Amir Johnson fans from the True Blue Pistons blog: AMIR MIGHT START! YAH! About freaking time. Seriously though, Amir can only start against teams without a true center. I.E. The Knicks with David Lee at center and Wilson “Benton Harbor, Mi” Chandler at power forward. Putting Amir up against Shaq, Big Z or even guys like big baby Andrew Bynum is just asking for trouble. I dont think he should start against true centers but he should still be used of the bench alot more than he is being used recently.
Every game it shouldn’t be that hard to find 15 solid minutes for Amir.
WHAT’S YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE FINAL SCORE?
Peace,

I have to say, Cleveland is much improved this year and it will be nice to see how we compete against them. I expect a win for both my teams tonight.
